THE WOODEN SWORDS CHAPTER 16. - TWO ARMIES MEET!
-I’m not coming with you!
-What? Why, Ralph?
-Because I know their plan!
-What’s their plan?
-While you are meeting them that Ron will be in the candy shop eating all my cakes!
It was Wednesday afternoon and we were walking towards the park for our meeting with the cowboys. I was quite nervous and it was good that Timmy would be with me; I don’t know if I could have gone alone, like he did.
-We are Knights and we stick together!
-No! I’m not!
-Yes you are!
-No!
-Ok, Ralph, I’m ordering you to guard the candy shop.
-No! Pardon, guard the candy shop? Of course!
-Now Ralph is covering the candy shop. James and George will be on the corner of Queen’s Road and Pine Street, while Perry, Adam and Anne will be across the road in Pine Street.
I was really proud of my plan and it showed why I was leader. Of course, we had the map Anne had drawn for us, although we would soon need a new one. The old one was full of notes and corrections, plus a smudge of chocolate.
They were there. We could see Simon banging a stick against a fence, with Tom and Ron next to him. When they saw us coming, Ron crossed the road and walked towards the candy shop. Ralph was right!
-So!
-So!
-Do you want to surrender?
-No! Do you want to surrender to us?
-No!
-Good! So we still have a war!
-We are the Cowboys. We are the good guys because they always win!
-We are not Indians! We are Knights and they are also the good guys.
-Ha! Knights only have swords, but we have guns. We’ll win!
-No, our armour is bulletproof.
-Really?
At this moment, there was loud crash and shouting from down the street. We all ran from the park towards the candy shop where we found the owner holding the arms of Ralph and Ron, while behind them was a broken glass door.
-It was him!
-No, it was him!
-Shut up the both of you! Get inside the shop and give me your parents’ telephone numbers! Both of you! NOW!
This didn’t look good for Cowboys or the Knights.
