The Din Of War #poem & #painting by Nikos Laios

The din of war filled the skies,
They sought valour and victory
But found the tragedy of death
In foreign fields and lonely shores,
For they were men, mortal and proud
And fatally flawed having squandered
The ephemeral gifts of life.
