Plastic Dreams #Poem & #Painting by Nikos Laios

In a land of plastic
And shattered dreams,
They came from across
The sea searching for dreams
,
Instead they found an illusion
And live in plastic shanty towns
And wander the streets begging,
Bedraggled, depressed and hopeless,
Living on charity and a life that
Offers no future or dignity,
And they remember home
Fondly that it wasn’t so
Bad after all.
