Beneath ancient trees #Poem by Olivia Mendez

In a forest old and deep,
a sparrow sang a song of sleep.
On a branch, she sat so small,
watching shadows dance and fall.

A gentle breeze, so soft and sweet,
kissed her feathers, a tender treat.
A lover came, with heart so true,
and sat beside her, me and you.

Together, they walked hand in hand,
through the forest, a magic land.
The moon rose high, a shining sphere,
as they whispered secrets, sweet and dear.

They found a clearing, soft and green,
a perfect place, a peaceful scene.
They lay together, side by side,
their love a treasure, they would hide.

The forest slept, so still and deep,
As they drifted off to dream and sleep.
Their love would last, forevermore,
a bond of hearts, forevermore.
